Movies I Will Show My Kids
65Movies I Loved as a Child (Disney Edition)
- The Lion King (1995)
I was 7 years old when this movie was released, and it taught me all types of things. For a 7 year old, learning about the circle of life, Hakuna Matata, love, and betrayal was "heavy" stuff. LOL. This is a very enjoyable movie. I can still watch and enjoy it as an adult. I will definitely show my kids this movie, well when I have some. ;-)
2. Bambi (released 1942)
Obviously, I wasn't born when this film was released but my parents would always "put-me-on" the oldies but goodies. I'm a big cry baby, and when (well i wont spoil the movie for those who may have not seen it....) I just cried!!! That's all you need to know!
3. Beauty and the Beast (released 1951)
I destinctly remember who bought me this movie, I had two copies because both of my older sisters bought the same movie for my birthday and didnt know it. LOL. I really like the movie, it teaches kids not to be so superficial.. well that's if they follow BELLE's example ;-)
4. Aladdin (released 1992)
I was FIVE when Aladdin was released, and for a long time it was my favorite movie only because the princess and I shared the same name (that reason alone was good enough for the 5 year old me) , But as I grew older I appreciated it for different reasons. It taught me that no matter what my financial situation may be, at the end of the day it's better to be myself.
5. Mulan (released 1998)
I wont lie, i'm in my twenties and I still love cartoon movies! Mulan will always and forever be a favorite of mine. I was a BIG "tom-boy" growing up, so Mulan was like the ultimate "girls-rock" movie!
6. All Dogs Go to Heaven ( released 1989)
Mutts need love too!
7. Cinderella (released 1950)
A personal favorite of my mama, and maybe all women (secretly), lol I haven't met one female who has never seen, or heard of this movie. There has been many remakes and remixes of Cinderella, but in my opinion nothing can top the old 1950's version.
